I believe there is an analogy here for the way we are living our lives. The government is following the same course financially as the rest of europe, dispite all the signs being that they are all heading in the wrong direction. Iceland is the only economy currently improving with good prospects, and they are the 'discenting' state that did the opposite of what the rest of europe did.
But how often do we blindly follow in our everyday lives? I was at a theme park recently with a queuing system that occupied two lanes, both of equal importance for loading onto the ride. One was full up to the very beginning of the queue whilst the other was almost empty. I took the empty queue and was on the ride in 5 minutes whilst the rest of the other queue were looking at another 45 minute wait. In another scenario I've seen queues to get out of car parks that have also been caused by this sheep mentality.
Why is it that we do this? It isn't just in the UK, It seems to happen in most places (except in Spain where the spanish and the French push through the queues). Is it because they lack the ability to make the concious discission as to what route to take? Is it because genetically we are like the dumb sheep in the fields or do we follow because we are in fear? Do we fear getting into a situation where we are isolated away from the pack to be picked off by wolves, to have to be accountable for our actions and opinions, to have to act as a fully cognitive intelligent being, an adult?
As a child we are constantly being told to 'do as we are told' and in school we are forced to be part of the group and to join in and not to wonder off to keep safe. This is social conditioning that indoctrinates all of us to act as a group, it also teaches us that when one of us is in trouble we should all stand aside and let the authority figure slaughter the wondering lamb whilst we look on, 'cos we're safe, we didn't wonder off, we're are part of the flock, conforming. This place feels safe and exists in our minds and stops us from fighting the people we see as authority and power, and it's all a lie, a lie to make you give power away to people who you will see as being the provider of your food, your employer. "Be a good employee now and tow the line whilst I cut yor wages to give me a bigger bonus".
This kind of sheeple mentality happens at work places when a whistle blower does us all a favour by trying to get rid of corruption or wrongdoing. When thier collegues are asked 'will you back me up?' they SAY yes, but when it comes to the crunch the rest of the flock do not have the balls to stand up against authority, even if they do have a leader who is brave enough to represent them. They are scared, scared of the fact that they are going against the pack leader, the sheepdog, or even the shepherd. We even get the tin god supervisory management that will chase the sheeple and keep them in line for a pat on the head from the shepherd!! Im sure we've all met someone like that!
The crux of the matter is that as a society we are conditioned to feel fear when we step out of line with, teachers, the leaders of our banks, employers, politicians, the army and the police. Why is this? It is to keep us under control, It is to prevent us from escalating from saying 'something should be done, I should do something about this' to actually doing something about it. And while we are all struggling to break our childhood programming those in charge find more ways to condition the next generation into believing the bulshit that they need to believe so that more control goes to the top, to the corrupt elitist politicians and thier 'civil servents'.
The future? Well it could look bleak, but if you disascotiate yourself from the fear and the programming, you will see that the only thing to fear is to be on your own as an adult human being. To take control of your own future and not to be afraid of the ridicule, the financial penalties, the social isolation from the herd. You have to let yourself be mentally free from fear, doubt and the self punishing part of the brain that reinforces the programming we all had as a child. Homeschool your children and you will break the cycle of government brainwashing, and you will see they no longer fear teachers.
Finally train yourself to be at peace inside. To be at one with the energy in the universe, to relax and not to be pulled in by the daily distractions of TV and celebrity. Concentrate on keeping healthy and loving, create happiness in what you do, and most of all never be afraid to stand up for the rights of ourselves and others, never be afraid of saying no. There is nothing to fear but fear itself, and we are our own prison masters, and we still have the keys.....For now.
