But what is it to be creatve? Is it a random occurance dependant on the firing of random neurons? Is it the sum of experience and the need to express thoughts in geometric or auditory space? It could be any of or combination of these but to make the best of our abilities we should understand the process.
To create first we must experience. We cannot create a painting without experiencing what paint is and what a picture is, nor can we truly express what we see and feel without the experience gained from observing and using the tools and media. The same goes for music. Real musicians take a long time to master their instrument in order to be able to express their ideas in a meaningful way. Experience of life, emotions, the physical world and so on gives us our inspiration, it gives us our framewrok.
The creative mind can use these frameworks of inspiration and experiences and shape them into a manifestation seed, a single thought process which reaches a conclusion in turn forming the beginnings of the creation. In order for the mind to fully reach its creative potential the concious mind must be relaxed, calmed and focussed to allow the process to proceed without the hinderance of external stimuli or internal extranious thought.
The best way to reach the state of mind required is to learn meditation. To quieten the mind of chatter so that we can listen to the outputs of our creative mind. Without the distractions of the external world and internal chatter, the mind becomes free of the resultant drain on its processing power.
