system? Or just a bunch of chemicals that act and react? Well the answer is a
little of all of them.
The problem with analysing the human condition is that there are so many
perspectives. For this post I will look at the human race from the perspective
of an outsider, another species looking in.
Humans are, by most means, an animal species. The events of dominance and
submission, the incidents of violence and affection can be seen throughout the
animal kingdom. So many traits are shared. The need to nurture the young, the
young then growing in stature to overthrow the old once they become week. The
feeding of the family group by one or more of the parents hunting for the means
to obtain food. And so it goes on.
Many species are social animals where by they organise specific roles based
on gender, strength and social position. In human society this ability has been
stifled by a process called politics.
Whilst politics exist in other species, for example a weaker male will
Sercombe to a stronger one until they see their opportunity if the lead male is
injured fighting another stronger male, the politics of the human species seem
complicated and driven by the accumulation of wealth. Wealth is something unique
to the human. As it represents the potential to be within a state of plenty.
Whereas in the other species plenty means relying on the seasons and nature,
with the creation of the concept of wealth, humans can now have plenty all year
round. But this also means some have much less all year round. The dominance of
the strong and wealthy ensures that their dominance continues as a cycle. It is
very rare that other species employ the technique of using other social group
members to create wealth on their behalf, as slaves. There is a reason why, it’s
because no other species will put up with it.
Most species go on the principal of when the young mature enough, they take on
their own area, patch or group by virtue of age or maturity of size. With the
aid of laws passed by the rich and powerful, they are able too keep being
dominant for much longer than is naturally possible, and to keep it in the
family. And so the wealth continues within an elite group even if the genetic
heritage is not the strongest.
There is an inclination in the human species to congregate hatred into groups
against other groups. This can be based on color, size, wealth, background, hair
type, education, religion, size of penis, size of mammary glands, sexual
orientation, language, or even a perceived difference of location. We can see
this in sport where two clubs are only a matter of walking distance apart, yet
people who live in the same area are at war on a game night due to their shirt color and
perceived clan hood with their “club”. This is used by the wealthy to separate
and conquer areas of the world, if they are bickering amongst themselves then
they will never threaten the hierarchy! The truth that we are all humans just
trying to get on is lost on both the 1% of the wealthy and the 90% of the poor.
Only the 9% hold the key to the survival of the species through rationality,
debate and the progress of sharing the best knowledge and accepting the wisdom
of others. However it is not the 9% that dictate the fate of the 100%.
Weak groups use the leverage of politics and law to gain the upper hand over
the strong and intelligent. The rich who make the law use it to gain the upper
hand over the strong and intelligent poorer people that could otherwise drive
the species further and better towards a fairer and more equal society for
all.
However, they are an animal species, and as with all animals, those who have
the power, will try to keep it at all costs.
Focus upon the light, let it fill your heart, mind and spirit. Concentrate it and feel the world around you. you can feel the people in the room, the trees in the park and even the fish in you aquarium, because they, like you, are living beings, and they can feel you too.
Good journey
