While the Queen was celebrating, it needs to be pointed out that well over 2 million families in the UK are living in abject poverty. Many more cannot heat their homes as they are so poor. Many families live in buildings that are cold, damp and full of mould leading to the children, and adults, suffering illnesses needlessly. Many schools report huge numbers of children turning up for school hungry and dirty because the families cannot afford food, or to wash their clothes. Families of many generations have to all live in one room of houses so poorly maintained that they cannot safely stay in the rest of the house. Many families live in fear of violence and agression from gangs of feral youths and drug gangs. Lawlessness, violence and poverty is a very real issue in the UK.
The recession caused by bankers took a huge toll on many families who could no longer pay the greedy banks, they lost their homes and many families have split due to a benifits system that favours single parents over their married counterparts. The Tax Credit system has trapped millions of families in low paid jobs topped up with benifits that are reduced if they earn more by working harder, there is therefore no incentive to work more as they actually become worse off the more they work. Meanwhile the rich bankers give themselves big bonuses for fucking the country and doing a shit job.
So the Queen may have felt Humbled by the reaction of the people, but the Queen should be ashamed that so many of her "subjects" are dying, starving, poor and in poverty like they are living in third world countries. Celebration Cake anyone?
