If we strive for things in a negative way, or strive for something that encourages negative behaviour and emotions, the striving becomes an obsession, or an addiction. The endless persuit of a loving family will always give some joy and in the end will have been a worthwhile pursuit. However the striving for money and power, becomes and obsession that means the important things are lost such as compassion, and love of each other. When the lust for money overtakes our moral compass as it does in so many 'company men' (and women) the person becomes just as morally corrupted as a drug addict or an alcoholic. The only difference is that whilst the drug addict may kill themselves, the money obsessed phycopath will kill hundreds if not thousands to defend his money. Just look at the big industries of Oil and pharmacueticals, and even kids toys. Safety and effectiveness of drugs are now secondary to profit. Oil is responsable for wars as is opium, and kids toys now make kids pay out for subscriptions otherwise the toys they get for christmas are useless. All because money is generated from it.
Hopefully in the future money will become a secondary thing or non existant, and we will all live of the plentiful supply of food and water that is possable if only the greedy few would let go of the obsession and lust for money. Imagine money was no object and we irrigated africa so we could grow huge amounts of crops? NO STARVATION.
Imagine of we got rid of all the EM radiation and dangerous food additives, NO CANCER, I could go on but I Have work to do to earn money to pay to greedy banks who then rob the poor and finance big companies who kill people in the persuit of money.
