Much of our filter can be made up of what we see and hear, as well as our experiences physically and emotionally. An abused dog who used to be beaten by a man in a hat will always hate men in hats afterwards, just as the TV programmes we watch which portray certain behaviours and events can influence the way feel about certain people and situations. Sometimes we do not see the fact that life often imitates what we see on the television. One example is the talk show, whether you watch Jeremy Kyle, Maury Povich, Oprah, Jerry Springer or any other, the theme is the same with arguments and anger so much that a small child I know calls these shows 'Fatty ladies and angry men'. Whilst I laughed at this enlightend little coment from someone so small it did raise the issue that the majority of the people that are on these shows are emotionally out of control and unable to communicate with other adults without crying, accusing, bringing up crap from a past that they should have moved on from, or revealing that they are either mentally ill or just plain unintellegent. Some even believe it is their five minutes of fame. But when you hang your dirty washing out on these shows your energy and attitude is beemed into the homes of millions, training young and old alike to behave in more and more rediculus ways as the bubble of what is personnaly normal is stretched and destorted by our experiences of what happens on screen. Many people say that if it affects you then you have issues with reality, but even these people are the very types who become overopinionated without the knowledge to back up their opinions, just like the presenters of these shows. They are affected without knowing!
TV has a unique place in our lives and the more that we watch it the more influence it has, it can beem experiences of war, emotional distress, anger, prejudice, greed and political doctorine into our homes much more easily than having the experience infront of our eyes. Of course it it in bite size easy to swallow sanitised portions, a bit like a wild animal wounding a kill so that young can finish it off to get the hang of killing, the TV makes the messages and hatred and war easier to consume.
TV also of course has other programmes, comedy, and news channels that don't always follow the government agenda such as RT or al jezera, but the majority are brainwashing citizens all over the country. The next Blog will be about the effects of the politically orientated childrens programmes that condition out children.
On another note their was a Panorama program on the BBC in the UK last night about Syria. A very one sided documentary about the plight of the rebels. With signs written in english in a non english speeking country and an arab who had the accent of an eastenders car salesman it did seem to be very staged. You can gaurentee that there will be regime change in Syria soon sponsored by western governments who have softened up their populations with the sort of propagander that I was subjected to last night.
Good journeys...........
