The point is that each person is different and it is necessary to try various tyoes to find out what is right for you, however there is a universal, and that is music.
Always go for music without lyrics, I am really not a fan of guided meditation as the human voice always pulls the conciousness back to the physical realm, it is better to let the mind find its way and the lyrics of a song will guide your mind, which is the opposite of freedom.
The energy in the music will also influence you so be carefull not to listen to somber music, but instead listen to slow calming and positive sounds. Remember you are at your most open when you meditate so you must prevent the influences that you wish to be free from influencing you whilst you are open.
Some music has voices that are either muffled, un intellagable or just so nice to listen to that it relaxes and comforts you, use these tracks as intros or to finish your meditation, we all love a dessert!!
